How does DAOfood® work?

The diamine oxidase (DAO) in DAOfood® supplements the body's own enzyme responsible for breaking down histamine. Taking one DAOfood® tablet before each meal increases the amount of DAO in the small intestine and, therefore, the ability to break down histamine. This speeds up the digestive tract's processing of histamine in food, relieving symptoms.

The DAOfood® dispenser bottle contains 60 gastro-resistant tablets with controlled release of DAO in the intestine, which avoid the acidic pH of the stomach.
