The composition of Expectus is free of preservatives, is suitable for celiacs and bases its activity on the recognized properties of the active ingredients contained in its formula. Chemotyped Essential Oils The balsamic and emollient effect of Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) acts on the respiratory system and is especially indicated for its activity in the bronchi, nose and throat. Lemon (Citrus X lemon), obtained from the peel of the fruit, has recognized antiseptic and immunostimulant effects. Fluid extracts The leaves of Thyme (Thymus vulgaris), rich in thymol, carvacrol and flavonoid molecules, have a balsamic and antitussive action as well as providing an antiseptic effect. The leaves of Lesser Plantain (Plantago lanceolata L.), noted for its composition in mucilages, pectins and tannins, among others, provide anti-inflammatory, antitussive and antihistamine action to the formula. Mullein flowers (Verbascum thapsus) traditionally used for mild infectious and allergic respiratory disorders, has a high percentage of mucilages, flavonoids, glycosides and aromatic molecules responsible for its balsamic, antitussive and anti-allergenic activity. Poppy petals (Papaver rhoeas), rich in anthocyanosides, alkaloids and mucilages, give it recognised emollient, balsamic, sedative and antispasmodic properties.
